How can I, and where can I recharge my credit balance?
You can recharge your credit balance online in the customer area. You can renew your balances with credit card and since Nov. 2007, with bank debit transfer or Paypal.
How do I know that I am using the callback mode?
To make sure that you are really logged in, in a mobile network that supports callback, by requesting your credit balance (*100#). It is free and you can check whether or not the network supports the appropiate messaging.
If you get your deposit, you are in a supported network, and can use the callback Service. If not, then please use a different mobile network.
How long does it take to recharge my tourist Mobile SIM card?
If you topup by credit card or PayPal recharging should happen immediatley. However, there can be delays up to five minutes during times of higher server loads.
In what currency, is the credit balance?
The credit is always given in euros.
Can I suppress my phone number?
Yes, caller id suppression is possible (see manual of your mobile phone).
Do I have to activate my TouristMobile SIM after departing?
Immediately after shipping, we activate your TouristMobile Travel SIM
I forgot or lost my PIN and PUK number.
Send an email to Tourist Mobile Germany at: service@tourist-mobile.com and tell them your telephone number and customer password to ensure fastest service. Once its done, please login and change the password.
How will my data be backed up from abuse?

Tourist Mobile Germany
Tourist Mobile is a German (+49) Global roaming Prepaid Sim Card that works with your unlocked GSM phone. This sim offers free incoming calls in Germany and low low call costs in more than 150 countries worldwide. This sim has a European focus in terms of countries and call cost, and works worldwide. From our standpoint this sim soars because it is so efficient. It does what it does really well. The calls come in and when you dial out, the calls go out.
This sim works two ways, using call back and direct dialing. This means that you can use the more economical call back feature to place calls and save money, or direct dial when speed and convenience is the priority.
Refill this simcard online using your credit card or paypal account, or set up an auto topup to perform the refill when yor account falls below a certain level.
With your order you will receive a Tourist Mobile Sim Card (with number), and a mini manual instruction card. The mini card shows the shortcut tips to get the most from your sim. You can also view the mini manual here (Front | Back) as a (pdf).
How long does it take until I get my TouristMobile Travel SIM?
If you order before 3pm EST (Washington DC), your SIM card will be send out the same day. Typical depvery time is about three working days.
How long is the Tourist Mobile SIM card and the call credit valued?
Your TouristMobile Travel SIM validity is 1 year after your last top-up. After this year, your SIM will be blocked. After your SIM has been blocked, you can withdraw of your credit within 2 years (withdrawal fee will be charged).
Will my phone work with the Tourist Mobile SIM card?
Yes, all standard phones such as Samsung, Siemens, Motorola, etc. are compatible with the TouristMobile Travel SIM.
For some Nokia phones and older devices you have to use them with a special code call (see manual). However, we have not been testing all variations of mobile devices so if your specific device is not on the list, please give it a try for your own, or get one we already have tested so far. What is SIM-LOCK?
The term SIM-Lock is a special lock, which mainly used by large mobile operators.
Mobile phones with SIM-LOCK only work with SIM cards of the mobile service provider you bought it (e.g. Vodafone, T-Mobile, ePlus, AT&T, LIME).
Tip: Two years after the purchase, you service provider will unlock your phone for free or a for a nominal fee.
Can I receive SMS?
It depends on if the current provider you are logged in does support SMS with prepaid cards like our Travel SIM or not. Also there can be areas where you can receive SMS (like in or near bigger cities) and areas where SMS is not supported at all.
How much does receiving SMS cost?
Receiving SMS is free. Yea!!
Can I send SMS?
Again, it depends on the current provider you are logged in to. If you can receive SMS, you should also be able to send SMS. To use this service you need enough balance on your SIM account. Note that SMS isn't a refundable service. Sometimes delivery of SMS can be delayed for days, sometimes they get lost.
